Nishant comes to BE with 15+ years of experience leading a range of high-impact executive functions and social impact roles within fast-paced startups, consulting, nonprofits, and Fortune 100 companies. Most recently he served as Vice President, Business Development and Partnerships @Salesforce, where he led market expansion, new product and business growth, and global partnerships. He also built and drove Salesforce’s investment and partnerships in food security, racial justice, and climate action to serve millions of pounds of fresh produce to thousands of underserved families (called the Food Justice Project). His additional leadership and growth roles are sprinkled across fast-growing tech, consulting (former @Deloitte and social impact consultant @Schaffer&Combs), and social entrepreneurship (3 startups including climate change tech, healthcare tech, and front-end innovation). Nishant serves on the Board of Directors @Fair Trade USA, and as an Advisory Board member to a select few mission-driven startups.
Nishant’s academia journey has resulted in PhD research in socio-economic anthropology from the University of California Berkeley and UC San Francisco, where he focused on social entrepreneurship and socially good capitalism. He has a Masters from the London School of Economics and BS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Nishant is deeply obsessed with his family and his growing (toddler) daughter. He and the family also make time to hit the trails with backpacking and camping, cooking up creative, messy meals, and dancing to instrumental beats in the living room.
