Mark Wilhelm has 34 years of energy sector experience, including 17 years in the utility industry and 20 years in sustainable building design, construction and operations. He implements transformational energy efficiency, renewable energy, and carbon reduction strategies for Tierra RC clients. Mark was recently the chief sustainability executive for Ameresco and led a Climate Neutrality Alliance with Arizona State University, which is intended to drive ASU to climate neutrality by 2035 with a positive financial result. He provided high-performance building consulting for 70 million square feet of built space and helped develop 40 MW of renewable energy systems. He managed $20 million of collaborative R&D in energy efficient building technology for EPRI. Mark directed LEED certification efforts for 80 projects, two-thirds of which earned Gold- or Platinum-level certification. In 2017 Mark was named a Top 50 Energy Manager in North America by Business Sector Media’s Energy Manager Today Magazine.
