Julia Rogers leads the Built Ecology Practice in Boston, providing sustainable design consulting, analysis, and engineering services. As a leader in sustainable design process for over a decade, Julia has led design teams through the planning, development, system and material selections, commissioning process, and operation optimization to determine resource-cognizant options for projects on scales from building systems to municipal net-zero planning. Julia’s education in both planning and environmental engineering has included a suite of modeling analysis expertise that includes energy, water, daylight, energy storage, sustainable operation and digital infrastructure, as well as community-based renewable energy design. Most recently, Julia has implemented design approaches for sustainable healthcare facilities, energy-reduction planning for campuses, and resource-based design, planning, engineering. Julia’s work has been presented at national and international conferences that include GreenBuild, AASHE National Conference, MedEd Annual Healthcare Conference, and SCUP.
