Mr. Maskrey has 38 yrs experience in the energy efficiency and renewable energy fields in private, public, utility and academic environments. Currently an Associate Specialist with the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, he has served as VP of a mechanical engineering firm in California; Energy Manager for City of Santa Monica; Commercial DSM program manager for the Hawaiian Electric Company; VP Technology for solar energy start-up in Hawaii and researcher at UH Manoa, Hawaii Natural Energy Institute in the energy efficiency group. Mr. Maskrey was responsible for design consulting, construction and instrumentation of two net zero structures on the UH Manoa campus, and has been monitoring and evaluating the performance of these and three other net zero classrooms on Oahu and Kauai. Mr. Maskrey received a Masters of Environmental Planning from Arizona State University and an MBA from the University of Hawaii.
