The central theme of Jim’s career is ecological and economic integration to create high performance projects. Jim recently completed construction of a 90,000 sf, Zero Net Electric, multi-tenant commercial office building at 1400 Page Mill Road in the Stanford Research Park of Palo Alto, California. In 2016 the building received LEED Platinum from the USGBC, and a Green Project Award from the Silicon Valley Business Journal. The building is fully leased and will be 100% occupied in January 2017.
Prior to commercial real estate, Jim worked for 16 years in the development of nature preserves. He founded the Northern Sierra Project for The Nature Conservancy, and has advanced complex conservation solutions over thousands of acres of protected lands and waters. Flagship projects include the 2,323-ac Independence Lake Preserve near Truckee, California, and the 7,472-ac Headwaters Forest Reserve near Eureka, California.
Jim earned his PhD in Ecology from the University of California at Davis, and his MS and BS in the Biological Sciences from Stanford University.
