Geffen Oren joined Arup’s LA office as a Senior Sustainability Consultant in 2022. Both at Arup and prior, Geffen has overseen the integration of sustainability strategies into building scale and masterplan projects. His experience includes performing and managing environmental design, energy analysis, daylight analysis, water conservation studies, LEED and other sustainability benchmarking systems on project types ranging from laboratory to class A office space. On the side, Geffen has published a paper on using ASHRAE 90.1-2016 for code compliance. In addition, he co-taught the introductory sustainable design course Environmental Technology at the New School in New York in 2019.

Geffen is passionate about holistic sustainable design and decarbonization. While he works with most facets of building sustainable design, his expertise lies in energy efficiency. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Sustainable Design and Construction – Energy from Stanford University.
