Fran’s current focus is on High performance New Construction and Zero Net Energy for Commercial Buildings.  Most recent work includes participation on the ZEB Task force drafting a 20 year road map for Commercial and Residential ZEB growth in Rhode Island.  He has also provided support for multiple ZEB projects in MA and RI including the first ZEB lab building in New England. For a decade he has been a national leader in the creation and implementation of standards for beyond code energy efficient commercial construction. Since 2006 and has been a member of the Comm. of MA Governor’s Zero Net Energy Building Task Force. He has presented on ZEB trends at numerous local and regional events including the prior New Buildings Institute’s national Getting to Zero conference in Washington D.C. He also was the Sustainability Lead for the construction of National Grid’s 320,000 LEED Platinum rated US Headquarters building in Waltham, MA.
