Chris Klinga

Technical Director | Architectural Solar Association (ASA)

As a 10 year veteran in the solar industry Chris has been involved with the full value chain of the solar industry. He started his career with the nationwide integrator Lighthouse Solar where there was a focus on developing differentiated solar technologies under the sister company Lumos Solar. The highest value differentiator proved to be architectural solutions that can be seen in Lumos Solar’s core competency today. Chris was instrumental in developing the LSX and GSX Module and Racking System for Lumos. Both are unique solar technologies that have changed the way home and business owners perceive solar energy. His innovations in solar product development have married elements of traditional solar with BIPV to create truly unique solar solutions that add an architectural benefit to solar while leveraging the cost advantages of commodity solar technologies. Today Chris is focused on growing the architectural solar market in the US through his work as the Technical Director of the Architectural Solar Association (ASA) as well as his consulting business SolMotiv Design. Chris is a registered Colorado Structural Engineer and has an extensive background in mechanical component design. Chris regularly advises solar companies how to bring their solutions to market and navigate the competitive landscape of today’s solar industry.
