Cesar Ulises Trevino

Cesar is a passionate and committed sustainable building professional. Graduated with honors as Civil Engineer from Monterrey Tech (Mexico), and later a Master’s Degree in Construction Management from the University of Newcastle (UK). His +25 years of professional experience include managerial and directive roles at Vitro Flat Glass Mexico, the Norwegian Building Research Institute and Mexico City’s Subway Construction Agency.

In 2001, Cesar pioneered green building consulting practice in Mexico, founding the leading firm ‘Bioconstruccion y Energia Alternativa’, with offices in Mexico City and Monterrey and operating projects in multiple countries.

Back in 2005, he founded the Mexican Green Building Council, and served both the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee for the World Green Building Council.

Cesar is the first LEED AP and LEED Fellow in Latin America. He guided iconic projects such us the first LEED Gold and LEED Platinum new buildings in Mexico and the region.

As a relentless and enthusiast promoter of environmentally mindful building and construction, for over 20 years he has shared knowledge and best practice -countrywide and abroad- through numerous conferences, events, lectures and publications.

For his notable contributions, Cesar has been recognized with the ‘Chairman’s Award’ from WorldGBC, the ‘Green Leadership Award Mexico’ from USGBC, and has been appointed Honorary Member by the Mexican National Academy of Architecture.  He is currently VP at SUME.org.mx and IMEI.org.mx, most influential smart and green building NGO’s in his country.
