Calvin Ahn is an Associate Principal/Project Manager at Ashley McGraw Architects in Syracuse, New York. His career has paralleled some of the best thinking in in sustainable design: An early LEED Certified dormitory (2005); the LEED Platinum Syracuse Center of Excellence (2010); a LEED Gold science building at Le Moyne College (2012); and currently a Living Building at Binghamton University. Calvin was Project Manager for the Binghamton City School District new MacArthur Elementary School. The high performance elementary school, with an Energy Use Intensity (EUI) of 10, embodies new models of educational engagement. The project team combined state-of-the-art systems, materials and site development to create a LEED Platinum (pending) product that incorporates both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of sustainable, high-performance building.
