We are excited to share that New Buildings Institute (NBI) will host a 2016 Getting to Zero National Forum on October 12-14, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. Zero net energy (ZNE) buildings are gaining credibility and value in the marketplace. We are seeing continued growth in the numbers of verified and emerging projects. Policies are advancing in states including California, Vermont, Washington, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York. Programs such as the Energy Trust of Oregon’s new Path to Net Zero incentives and resources are seeing high subscription rates. Energy efficiency and commercial building trade groups are integrating information about zero net energy into their resources.
The National Forum will gather 350+ leading policymakers—federal, state and local representatives—from across 50 states, design professionals, building owners and operators, commercial real estate representatives and others. These attendees represent “change makers” who will continue to drive the innovation, policy and practice to dramatically improve the energy performance of buildings and integrate clean, renewable resources. During the three-day event, delegates will share perspectives on the growth of ZNE, learn about best practices for successful projects and collaborate on opportunities for ZNE to transform the built environment.
