Sean Quinn leads the Sustainable Design practice of HOK San Francisco, and coordinates services across the firm’s Pacific Region: Seattle, Los Angeles, and Asia Pacific. He directs the studios’ integrated design approach to guide the application of sustainable strategies, including energy and environmental performance, resilience planning, and green building certification. With 15 years of architectural experience focused on sustainable design, Sean has led and assisted the design of numerous academic, athletic, commercial, cultural, government, hospitality, medical, mixed-use, residential, science & technology, and urban design projects throughout North America, Europe, Africa, Middle-East and Asia.
Sean complements his design practice with research in innovative building systems and fabrication, parametric design, and biomimicry. Sean is a Lecturer at Danube University Krems, Austria in their Future Building Solutions program, was an Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong, and is a frequent lecturer at international universities and conferences.
