New Buildings Institute is supporting the development of zero net energy fact sheets and educational webinars specific to Southern California. Getting to Zero San Diego is funded by California utility customers and administered by San Diego Gas & Electric Company under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.

Zero Net Energy (ZNE) buildings have a stigma of being high-cost buildings for the bottomless budget. In fact, ZNE costs are in line with other green buildings. As a benefit, ZNE buildings are higher performing, offering superior comfort, healthier places to work and live, and have lower energy bills.
