Sangeeta is the Vice President of Clean Energy Solutions at the New York Power Authority where she is responsible for two businesses: Distributed Energy Resources and Grid Flexibility, two of the fastest growing opportunities within NYPA.
The Distributed Energy Resources team manages customer sited solar and solar + storage projects for governmental, university, commercial, and industrial customers. The team manages the full process from deal origination through project construction. With a construction pipeline of over $600M, this team has one of the largest distributed pipelines in the State.
The Grid Flexibility team is developing a virtual power plant by aggregating customer sited DERs, along with other flexible load assets, to bring more reliability to the grid and monetize this functionality. Sangeeta is leading a cross functional team within NYPA to buildout this offer which includes deal structuring, enterprise architecture, operations, and business development.
Sangeeta serves as a Board Member to the New York State Smart Grid Consortium and the Advanced Energy Research & Technology Center. She is also a member of the Building Energy Exchange’s Industry Leadership Council and co-chair of the Peak Load Management Association’s ‘Women in Demand Management’ group. She is a frequent speaker at Clean Energy forums including the Smart Electric Power Alliance, NY Energy Summit, and the Solar & Storage Finance Conference.
She holds an MBA and MS in Environmental Management from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a BS in environmental engineering from Northwestern University.
