Donald (Donny) Simmons is president of Commercial HVAC Americas – which goes to market as Trane^® – for Trane Technologies. In this role, Donny oversees a broad portfolio of high efficiency, industry-leading HVAC systems, services, controls and energy reduction solutions.

Donny joined Trane Technologies in 2001 and has since served in a variety of general management, sales, operations and finance roles of increasing responsibility. Donny also served as chief financial officer of the $8 billion Climate Solutions sector; territory vice president for Trane in North America; general manager for Hussmann, a former brand of Ingersoll Rand; sales director for Thermo King; manufacturing vice president for Climate Control Technologies – Americas; and North America manufacturing controller for Hussmann.

Previously, Donny was president of the former Ingersoll Rand’s fluid management, material handling and power tools strategic business units. He cultivated growth and operational excellence, which differentiated the brand, created world-class operations and delivered profitable growth.

Donny started his career in finance at Owens Corning, serving in multiple controller roles. While at Owens Corning, he progressed into manufacturing and operations, becoming a plant manager.

He serves as the executive sponsor for the company’s Women’s Employee Network. Donny earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Georgia Southern University and his master of business administration from Indiana University.
