Selkowitz is Senior Advisor for Building Science, LBNL, a part time research and strategic planning role after leading LBNL’s building performance teams for 40 years in RDD&D of energy efficient technologies and sustainable design practices. An internationally recognized expert on window technologies, window software tools, façade and shading systems, daylighting, and integrated building systems solutions he partnered with industry to develop and demonstrate new technologies, systems, processes and tools that address energy, sustainability and human factors for zero net energy buildings. He advises building science programs globally on zero net energy buildings, consults for industry, has given 400+ presentations and authored 170 publications and 4 books. In 2012 he received LBNL’s first “Lifetime Achievement Award for Societal Impact”; in 2014 received McGraw Hill/ENR’s prestigious “Award of Excellence” for “relentlessly working to reduce the carbon footprint of buildings…” AB, Physics, Harvard College; MFA, Environmental Design, California Institute of the Arts.
