Curtis Caton

Principal | Pyatok

A Bay Area native with a background focused on housing and mixed-use projects, Curtis joined PYATOK in 1996 as the Project Architect for the firm’s first venture into designing campus housing with studies for UC Berkeley that led to the replacement of 920 apartments for student families at University Village in Albany. He has since led dozens of award-winning residential projects that serve seniors, families, students, and those with disabilities and special needs. Curtis is an enthusiastic team player and relishes the opportunity to develop innovative projects that meet the unique requirements of each clients’ program and site. Critical to these efforts is his focus on sustainable development methods for multifamily housing, and the application of improved construction techniques for building systems and envelope. His expertise in student housing, special needs, and accessible housing has led to speaking engagements at a number of Department of Justice Fair Housing seminars and
at San Francisco Planning and Urban Research (SPUR) events. Curtis is the Chief Operating Officer for PYATOK and leads the Campus Housing Studio.
