Breana Wheeler became the US Director of Operations for the Building Research Establishment (BRE) — a 100-year-old building science research organization focused on delivering better, healthier buildings for people and for the environment — in 2016. BRE developed BREEAM, the world’s first and leading science-based sustainability suite for the validation and certification of built world assets, which has successfully administered over 550,000 certifications since 1990.

With nearly fifteen years of experience, Breana is an expert in the ESG sector developing high-level strategies and initiatives that drive performance success. In her role at BRE, she oversees the deployment of the BREEAM family of standards in the US and supports technical work on the ‘Resilience’ and ‘Social Impact’ themes at BREEAM. Prior to joining BRE, Breana worked for ten years as an internal advisor on environmental and sustainability risk management for large, multinational corporations.
