Ms. Mathes has been involved with affordable housing for 30+ years. She holds a Master’s Degree in Management and Computer Science and an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems. Ms. Mathes has been employed at Granite City Housing Authority for 30 year. She has held positions from Accountant to Executive Director.

As the Executive Director, Ms. Mathes has moved the Housing Authority from the barracks style housing constructed in the 1940’s to newly constructed affordable housing. The redevelopment of the housing stock has progressed to incorporate use of sustainability components.
