As Head of Sustainability for Nuveen Real Estate’s U.S. portfolio, Jessica is responsible for the implementation of the firm’s tomorrow’s world sustainability platform, focusing on incorporating climate risk in the investment process, meeting energy and carbon reduction targets for the U.S. real estate portfolio, and communicating ESG strategy to investors. Prior to joining Nuveen Real Estate, Jessica led the sustainability program for JBG SMITH. Jessica has been an active member of the real estate community, serving as the co-chair of the host committee for USGBC’s Greenbuild Conference in 2015 and named USCBC-NCR Member of the Year in 2016, chair of NAIOP’s Sustainable Development Committee and was named the 2018 NAIOP Member of the Year. Jessica graduated from McDaniel College with a dual major in Business Administration and Communications and a minor in Economics. She holds LEED AP EB:O&M and WELL AP accreditations, and has earned the Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting credential.
