Steve Beyers manages campus energy and environmental engineering services at Cornell University, providing design, project management, and team management for a host of Cornell projects. As principal editor of Cornell’s award-winning climate action plan, Beyers was responsible for coordinating the involvement of students, staff, faculty, and consultants in an extensive engagement process that was critical in producing the plan. Beyers is also overseeing the energy and environmental aspects of Cornell’s New York City Technical (Cornell NYC Tech) campus on Roosevelt Island, NYC, opening in the Fall of 2017. He is also currently the lead engineer for an effort to tap into direct geothermal energy as a primary heating source for the Ithaca campus while supporting other infrastructure and energy initiatives within an academic living/learning framework.
