Michael Stoddard

Executive Director | Efficiency Maine Trust

Michael is an attorney and the Executive Director of the Efficiency Maine Trust, the independent administrator for programs that promote energy efficiency, alternative energy, and carbon savings in Maine. The Trust plans and manages programming for all conservation funds from gas and electric utilities, Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) revenues, Forward Capacity Market revenues, and the portion of the VW settlement funds being used in Maine to promote EVs and EV charging infrastructure. Michael was selected as the first director of the Trust upon its establishment in 2010.

Before joining the Trust, Michael was Senior Counsel at Environment Northeast (now Acadia Center) where he was involved in electricity restructuring across New England. He also worked on advocacy related to energy codes, appliance standards, energy efficiency budgets, transportation systems, climate change action plans, and the adoption of RGGI. Michael holds degrees from Williams College and the University of Maine School of Law.
