Graziella Pilkington

Graziella (Grace) Pilkington, from Boston, MA, will graduate Miami University of Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a self-designed Thematic Sequence in Global Public Health in May 2020. Grace is an accredited Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC) as of Spring 2019. Her career passion is making innovation happen in the intersection of Global Public Health, Building Science, and Architecture towards the ultimate goal of tackling human society’s greatest challenge: developing healthy, resilient, and sustainable communities.

Grace’s most recent work includes being a member of the winning team of the U.S. D.O.E.’s Solar Decathlon Design Challenge Elementary School Division, with the submission of a Net Zero Elementary School that uses PHIUS+ 2018 design strategies.

Grace also traveled to Ghana in 2019 for a design build studio, where she with a team of 16 students and 16 local workers, designed and constructed a 2,500 SF maternity ward in the village of Abrofo-Odumase.

After graduation in May, Grace is looking forward to joining the workforce, by combining her skills and passions of building science, design, and public health.
