Edward McGraw is a founding partner and Chief Executive Officer of Ashley McGraw Architects, located in Syracuse, New York. Under his direction, the firm has embarked on a foundational shift toward design that understands and participates in the relationship between our built and natural environments. Ed was the Principal-in-Charge for the Binghamton City School District new MacArthur Elementary School. The high performance elementary school, with an Energy Use Intensity (EUI) of 10, embodies new models of educational engagement. The project team combined state-of-the-art systems, materials and site development to create a LEED Platinum (pending) product that incorporates both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of sustainable, high-performance building.
