Carlos Gamarra is a Senior Research Associate for Clean Energy Technologies at HARC, where he also serves as HARC’s Energy Manager and the Assistant Director of the Department of Energy’s Southcentral Combined Heat and Power Technical Assistance Partnership. He holds a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and is currently a Ph.D. candidate researching the profitability limits of electrical microgrids. Carlos obtaining his CEM and PE certifications after more than 10 years of experience in the design, construction, and optimization of industrial and commercial facilities. He has worked on more than 30 energy audits and energy management systems projects, achieving 15 to 20% savings on average. His role in the Net Zero certification project is to lead data analysis and energy efficiency improvement efforts.
