Financial assistance for students and young professionals

Getting to Zero Forum Scholarships

Calling all students and young professionals!

You are the next generation of industry leaders, which is why we want you to join us at the 2021 Getting to Zero Forum, the premier event dedicated to zero energy and zero carbon buildings. We are offering a special rate of $450 for students and young professionals (three years or less in the workforce). If you are a student, additional assistance may be available.

George Malek

Want to attend the 2021 Forum, but need financial assistance?

We are pleased to offer the George Malek Memorial Scholarship Fund for students. This scholarship honors the legacy of  New Buildings Institute Board Member George Malek, director of energy efficiency services at Commonwealth Edison and an industry leader. We can think of no better way to remember George’s spirit and commitment to energy efficiency than to instill the same in the next generation of advocates.

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is also happy to sponsor scholarships for students attending colleges and universities in New York State. As the local host sponsor of the 2021 event, one of NYSERDA’s priorities is to provide students with the advanced learning and networking opportunities offered by the Forum.
