E3’s cost study evaluates the consumer economics, greenhouse gas savings, and grid impacts of electrification in residential low-rise buildings across six representative homes type in six California climate zones. Consumer economics are evaluated in three ways, by comparing: upfront installed capital costs, energy bills, and lifecycle savings between gas-fired and electric technologies.
