Achieving 80×50: Reducing Energy Use, Creating Jobs, and Phasing Out Carbon Emissions in New York City’s Buildings

In September 2014, Mayor de Blasio committed New York City, New York to a long-term 80 percent greenhouse gas emissions reduction by the year 2050. The Achieving 80×50 plan is a proposed roadmap for achieving this goal though phase-in changes to the city’s Energy Conservation Code. These changes are projected to create jobs and increase tax revenue along with hitting emissions reduction targets.
